 Outrageous Employment Law Cases and the Lessons we Can Learn! 

Every day, employers deal with a variety of employee issues, ranging from the mundane to the bizarre. 


Do we always handle them correctly? Can we do it better?


During this session, we will examine some real life, outrageous workplace situations and discuss the potential issues pose by each situation and best practices for addressing them. 


Randy is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group at Kaufman & Canoles. He concentrates his practice in employment litigation, representing employers in employment discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of employment contract, non-compete, and wage and hour claims before various state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Randy also advises and trains clients on lawful employment practices and other workplace issues.



Legislative Meeting 


Our Director of Government Affairs, Petrina Jones Wrobleski, will lead a Legislative Meeting in the morning to recap the highs and lows of the 2017 General Assembly Legislative Session. Petrina will also provide an in-depth overview of VRMA's legislative accomplishments.


This session is open to current VRMA members.

Hear from the always insightful and amusing Bob Holsworth. Bob will be giving his thoughts on all things political, local and nationwide.

Bob Holsworth is the team lead for higher education and civic engagement projects at DecideSmart. Bob has occupied key positions in a number of major governmental initiatives. He was the Executive Director of the Governor’s Commission on Efficiency and Effectiveness. He has been the Director of the Virginia Executive Institute and Co-Staff Director of the Commission on the Future of Virginia’s Urban Areas, a gubernatorial commission that examined how Virginia’s urban areas could become flourishing parts of regional economies. Bob serves on the Board of Visitors of Virginia Commonwealth University. He received his BA from Seton Hall University and his PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
